restarts when playing internet videos

I am not sure if this could be a computer or programming error. I am
guessing the latter. I restored my computer about two weeks ago, and for
some reason, every time I try to play any kind of video file from the
internet, it brings up media player, then suddenly, while the file is
loading, the computer restarts.
Before the restore, it was working fine.
I am using a different anti virus program as well <Defender Pro>. Could it
be the anti virus <even though I've tried shutting it off to see what happens
and it still does it>. Or should I just try restoring my computer again to
see what it does?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Candice

If you don't see any error messages, right click on My Computer, select
Properties and then the Advanced tab. Click on Settings under Startup and
Recovery and disable 'Automatically restart'. Next time your PC reboots,
you should see a Blue Screen. Could you please post the Stop Code from the
BSOD?

Also, please have a look in the Event Viewer to see if any entries there may
refer to the problem.

Will,
Thank You. I tried it, and it said there was an error, but didn't
pinpoint the problem.
Here is the code it gave me:

0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x804E43C5, 0xEF3D7778, 0x00000000)

Thanks Again,
Candice

Will,
Thank You for your help! I think I have found the problem.
It's plug and play. I went into 'services' and clicked on plug and play. It
said 'if this service fails, the computer will restart.'
I am wondering if I had accidently deleted something I shouldn't have when I
restored the computer a couple of weeks ago, as the internet video/audio
files are the only things I can not get to work. Any idea how to get the
plug and play reinstalled?

Thank You, Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hi

The Plug and Play Service should be set to 'Automatic'. Right click on that
Service and select Properties. In the drop down menu 'Startup type' make
sure it is set to Automatic.
