restarts overnight

I have an issue with a Win 2k computer restarting itself overnight. We have
run several virus and spyware scans and cannot find any problem. We also
cannot find any hardware issues. Everything works like it always
has....except that sometime overnight the computer restarts by itself.

Any ideas? The newsgroups have always been the heroes of my day. You guys
always get it right!

Have you checked your event logs for what might be
occuring overnight to cause this? Do you have automatic
updates enabled to download and install updates
automatically? This may cause a random reboot.

I had this with a '98 machine some years ago - the log showed it was always
some time like 00.32 it started and totally random. Never got to the bottom
of it I'm afraid and what was causing it gave up after some time. Possibly
I cleared it out with something but just as quickly as it started doing it,
it stopped.

Like suggested check your system event log.. this may be the result of

your system blue screening. If this is the vase you should be able to get an
idea of what is casuing thecrash. I would also run windows update...

Run it off a UPS and don't let the cleaner unplug the computer to use
the vacuum cleaner.
