My comp just started something weird, when it goes idle for any amout of
time, ranging from 5mins to 12 hours I've seen it will randomly restart, this
has only happened maybe once. The one thing it does alot is, once it is idle
then you go to move the mouse, click a program it restarts. I have the auto
restart on system failure disabled, and the event log shows no errors, its
just a spontaneous restart. While I'm playing intensive games or anything as
long as its active it doesn't restart.
Its an older comp, an Emachines T1090(dont laugh please im poor =x) with XP
Home edition, I don't have SP as its a security update and this wouldn't be
it, and I routinely run Ad-Aware, Microsoft Beta spyware, Search anddestroy
and AVG.
It seemed to stop for about a day or 2 then started again. Like I said, it
only restarts when idle and you go to use it again, or like I leave AIM open
and soon as someone sends a message while its idle since it has to do
something it restarts. But when I'm running alot of stuff its fine.
Any ideas on what it could be or areas to check? Any info would be greatly
appreciated. I know this may not be a windows issue, and a hardware but I
don't know where to start, thanks in advance.
