Restart Loop With Hyper Threading Enabled

I have a seriouse problem, I recently had to replace the motherboard in my
computer (hahaha i got water on it... but hey, thats how you learn) and now,
my install disk won't work. I made my self a custom install disk, and the
only way my applications install the way i want them too is if i use the
disk. Its a SP2 Slip stream Disk. It will work fine if i disable hyper
threading in the bios, but if i leave it turned on, or i turn it on after
installing windows, it just keeps restarting when it gets to the boot options
screen. Even if i choose last Good Configuration, it still restarts.
It works fine with a normal disk... but i don't want to use my normal disk,
i want to use my slip stream disk..

Mother Board : Asus P4P800-X
Processor : Intel P4 Northwood 3.2 Ghz
Ram : 1024 400Mhz DDR

Then the rest of the specs are irrelevant because changing parts has no
effect, its just the motherboard, ram and processor. I've been told i need an
update that wasn't included in service pack 2 in order for it too stop,
however i have been completely unsuccesful in finding any such update...

Some one pretty please help :( i want my hyper threading back...

OK I have some solutions for you hopefully one will work.

Go to asus website and download the firmware update for your bios to
download and load the latest bios on your motherboard. See if that helps if
not then do a ful microsoft windows update.

This should fix your problem if not then it might be the processor. Thanks

No, i've long since done that, i updated my bios as soon as i got my mother
board, i've gotten around the problem for now by updating from a non
slipstream install. But the problem still remains my computer is configured
to its full potential, so i still want to have an install from that disk.
I've been told i need an update no included in the SP2 Slipstream install to
fix it, i just have no idea what update it is

Here this so help you with the problem.

Go here and you can make a disc with all the updates and with sp2 and
everything and even make it unattended when you can just walk away from
omputer without click on options during install.

http://unattended.msfn.org and start of by looking at beginners and do the
slipstream with latest service pack and the other option under it with all
latest hotfixes look at that site and make a disc. Enjoy

No, i already have my own disk with all the updates, and everything, but when
you have a slip streamed install, theres one specific missing update that it
requires to function, no slip stream disk has it. Its just because my
motherboard is a jerk. lol. i need to know what update it is.

Ok try this update the intel chipset

http://support.intel.com/support/chipsets/inf/

and if that doesn't work if could possibly be the memory as I have seen this
problem happen this way see if you can take out the memory and replace it
with new memory sticks or if you have more than one in try using just one and
switch both it looks like it could be a memory issue. Please try both options
ok thanks.

I've already Got all the newest drivers and chipset updates, its an update
from microsoft thats missing. I custom build all my computers, i had this
problem with my last asus mother board too, but i took that one back because
of it, the one before that however had no issue with it. All i need is the
update from microsoft, i have no idea which one it is, so if anyone has any
idea as to what update it could be, please let me know.
