Restart and shut down.

I have problems in restaring and shutting down my XP pro.

Is there any simple way of solving this.

Thomas,

I had a similar problem and found that Norton Antivirus
2003 was the cause. I had to uninstall the program
(along with all Liveregs and LiveUpdate files) to correct
the problem. If you have Norton Antivirus 2003, I
suggest uninstalling it to see if it helps.

Uninstalling Norton was a bitch too, so I recommend going
to Symantec.com on the proper procedure to uninstall the
program. Using the Add/Remove program in control panel
didn't do it.
