Spend some "quality time" revising your policies. I think what you are
looking for is under Local Polies | Interactive Logon.
I always harden my systems to a CIS benchmark of 8 (out of 10) or higher.
Reference to the Benchmark is indicated in my sig.
If you are unfamiliar with the consequences of misconfiguring permissions,
however, PLEASE consult a seasoned IT professional. You may render your
system unusable. The standard caveat greets you at the top of the page. To
wit;
WARNING: You are not reading "Security For Dummies". If you are the
typical BDEU (brain-dead end-user) who finds it difficult to recall which
side of the keyboard faces skyward, you should STOP READING NOW! You might
hurt yourself. ;-)
Thanks for your post Scott D and I appreciate your attempt to help. I am not
sure if you’re Warning: is directed at me or is just a general quote. As well
as the local security policy has nothing to do with my question.
It seems you totally missed my question. I want to be able to take a user
logon ID and query the ADODB or something in AD to be able to get the
computer name the user is currently logged on to.
ALSO, I am very familiar with the CIS benchmark and Internet Security. I am
GSEC (SANS) certified.
