Windows xp professional on an in-car computer. One of my employees changed
the resolution from 600x800 to the maximum setting. Now at the log on screen,
the images keep moving, the mouse pointer is all over the place and it's not
logging me in. Any help would be gret. Thanks.

If you can press F5 or F8 to get to the Start menu, try the "Use last
known working configuration.". If that doesn't do it, go into Safe Mode
and change the resolution there.

1) system restore to when it was working
2) fire the employee

I tried both of those. I get into safe mode fine and the resolution there is
at the right setting. When I go back into regular mode, still the same
problem.

You can't go around firing employees for screwing things up. Microsoft
would disappear...

You probably failed to notice but when you went into Safe Mode and to the
resolution setting screen, that the 'Apply' button was not greyed out (as it
would normally be if you didn't change the setting). You need to click on
this before exiting Safe Mode ('OK' does not also 'apply' on this occasion).
You will then find that when you return to regular mode that the applied
setting will stick.
