If the output resolution is 1024x768, 102.4 dpi. Many
projectors/scan converters get unstable over 1024x768, but
if an unusually large screen is being used, they may have
the equipment to handle a larger output (like 1600x1200),
in which case you can go to 160 dpi. Best bet is to find
out what resolution the computers should be set at for the
lecture.

thanks amy. your input was very helpful. i don't yet know what the projector capabilities are for my lecture, but since i'm putting most of my images in at 1024x768 max., i should save my images at about 100 dpi.
