resistant NTLDR problem

Im trying to fix computer that has spontaneously generated a NTLDR error message.
Ive been into the recovery consolse and dont fixmbr and fixboot which havent worked

Ive copied NTLDR and ntdetect.com from te installation CD which didnt work

It will boot from the floppy created here :

anyone any idea what to do next?

FWIW I can read the HD using Knoppix , so i dont think the whole thing is borked.

You most likely would want to ensure that the boot.ini file is correct and
pointing to the correct ARC path for the system partition. This may be the
reason why the boot disk is functioning and the regular boot is not.

1.Try to start the Pc from the windows xp installation CD
2.Enter the recovery console
3. Type fixboot c: (if the C Drive is your Startup Drive)
this may work.

by the way did you make any change within the H.D.D Cable Configurations?
