I have bought an other computer an my pictures on one pp file does not show
because they were linked to an other files . Unfortunately when I enter my
name in the newer computer for windows , I did not enter it the same way
(one is my full name and one is only my first name)so the link is broken
there when i connect my my laptop. I have tried to link it in changing the
link in PP but it does not seem to work . Is it possible to rechange my name
in one of the computer or edit my links but that would mean severl to change
.. My life has over 900 slides. Please help

the mailman,

chances are the place where you stored your 'linked' info is something along
the lines of this

c:\documents and settings\*your unique username*\my documents\etc\etc

There is a chance that changing your user name may change the 'username'
folder

on windows xp
start > control panel > user accounts > change an account > select your
account > change name

as to fixing the links....

see

Perhaps not.

Are these actually linked pictures? That is, did you add them using "Insert,
Picture, From File" and choose the Link option?

If so, download and install the free PPTools FixLinks demo at
http://fixlinks.pptools.com

You'll need to make sure that the PPT file and the linked pictures are in the
same folder, then run FixLinks on the presentation to automatically relink your
images. It does the relinking in a way that will keep the links from breaking
again, so long as you keep the PPT and images in the same folder.
