Can anyone help...I am trying to set Bellsouth.com as my
homepage, well any home page right now would be OK, but I
keep getting res://mshp.dll/index.html#22776 as my home
page. I do the usual tools/internet options/ apply
OK...everything works once, but when I recheck my
tools...everything is reset for my homepage to be
res://mshp.dll/index.html#22776 Any ideas???? I have
rebooted, like I said, all the usual, and nothing is
working. I even set up my content manager to block this
email, and it bypassed it and kept opening, then other
sites wouldn't. I have to take off the content manager...
Help...please.

Homepage resets to: res://mshp.dll/index.html#22776

It makes changes here: Start/Run/Regedit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

Default_Search_URL
Start Page

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

Default_Page_URL
Default_Search_URL
Search Bar
Search Page
Start Page

It also adds: C:\Windows\mshp.dll

Manual Procedure: Remove the above mentioned entries including going to
Start/Run/Msconfig/Win.ini/Windows/Run and Unchecking fntldr.exe

Then follow up by running HijackThis:

According to --Fabrice--Nasty version of CWS--

Everytime I used AdAware or Spybot they were cleaning the spyware and the registry entries it came back.

I tried HijackThis, and thanks to the list of BHOS posted at http://www.spywareinfo.com/bhos/ I managed to find the
culprit.

I cleaned them but this nasty version had installed a boot .exe file so it reinstalled itself after I rebooted my PC.

I finally managed to find the .exe file that created the problem but could not delete or desinstall it.

The solution was a little program that clean the whole lot.

It is available at http://www.merijn.org/cwschronicles.html

-----Original Message----->"Fabrice"

I went to the Internet and changed it but this keep coming back.

I have used the Microsoft Article 320519 and 310353 but the same problem still exist.

It now always come back to res://mshp.dll/index.html#10213 and it start interefering with explorer,
ie sending me back to res://mshp.dll/index.html#10213 when I try to surf.

I deleted the file mshp.dll but it does reappear.
