I had the same question as Rick, and I found a
Trojan.ByteVerify virus. But, even after removal the
page still resets. I updated my virus definitions, found
no other viruses. Does removing the virus through Norton
do the trick by itself? Or, do I have to change
some "fancy" settings (other than going into IE tools and
changing the home page)?

It could be a spyware program. Download a free version of
adaware and scan for spyware, www.lavasoftusa.com also
after you remove the spyware you may have to reset your
homepage to where you want it.

This is caused by a CoolWebSearch variant.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
