Reserved space on external drive. Recover how?

Hello

XP+SP2

I have turned off System Restore from an external USB drive (320GB) but 12%
of the space is still reserved.

The is only data (backed up) on the drive and I would like to get the 12%
back.

Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.
