Require a Reply

The company I work for just migrated from Novell Groupwise to Microsoft
Outlook. One of the features we had in Groupwise is to require a response to
an email I sent. I've been looking for that in Outlook, but can't find it.

Anyone have any ideas?

As in when they open your email it generates a Read Receipt? Depending upon
the version of Outlook your recipient uses, they can deny sending read
receipts. Many servers trap them or they are trapped by Outlook in the
Outbox.
However that doesn't prevent you from requesting a read receipt:

Tools > Options > Preferences > E-mail options > Tracking options

The above instructions are approximate, depending upon your version of
Outlook.

If this is not the solution you're looking for, please post back.

Kathleen,

Thanks for the post. No it's not the read receipt. We understand they can
deny sending read receipts.

We have someone who sends an email and they want to flag the email that the
recipitant must respond to the email by a certain date.

Thanks,
Ken

There's no way in ANY mail program to force a person to respond.
