REQ: In XP Windows Explorer - File Name Suffixes?

In Windows Explorer, I'd like to have file name siffixes shown
withfile names. Such as name.txt.

Can anyone advise me how to do it ?

In My Computer go to the tools menu and choose folder options.
Click the view tab.
Uncheck 'hide file extensions for known file types'.

Why this option is on for default I don't know. In fact I don't think it
should be an option at all. I think it's stupid. People don't learn which
file extension a particular file type shoud have and then go and open
nakedlady.jpg.exe in an email.
