REPOST: How to get rid of Links folder in Favorites?

if you didn't get an answer the first time, why would you expect one now?
that is more of an IE question anyway, have you asked in those groups? if
you don't want the links bar in IE just right click up on the toolbars and
uncheck it, then it doesn't matter if there is a links folder or not.

I guess U haven't made myself clear. I don't care about the Links toolbar in
IE6 and I know how to get rid of it. I'm not talking about that.

The Links folder I am trying to get rid of is on the Windows Start Menu,
under Favorites. I don't use it and I don't want it. Windows puts it back
seconds after I delete it.

Can anybody help me get rid of it? I assume it requires a registry change
that I don't know about.

Thank you.

that is the folder that is used by IE for the links toolbar. if you delete
it IE will recreate it when it starts... so you could delete it and try a
different browser. or go ask in an IE group about how to prevent it from
being created.

Cancel that. Turning off Links on the IE6 toolbar magically gets rid of the
Links folder on the Windows Favorites menu on the Start Menu.
