(Repost) Browser Misfires...

Got an interesting problem, need an interesting solution. Cannot get
to Microsoft.com or McAfee.com and many other sites. IE says Site
found and then times out waiting for a server resoponse. I can get
to some sites such as Intellicast and Yahoo, but not to Google????
Also, very interestingly, I can get to Yahoo home page and then am
allowed to enter some links such as music and maps and time out on
other links such as finance and games. go figure.

New:

Ran Pest Patrol then downloaded Spybot and ran that too. Cleaned up about 30 or so slimy things. Also rebuilt 'hosts'.

No Joy!

Should I try to uninstall IE6?

Reinstallation of IE should be your last resort, run "Hijack This".
