Report/Label Template Question

J

Joe Williams

I have custom half-sheet labels for our calibration system.

The sheets have one label across and 9 labels down

I have a label template setup that prints sheets of labels from access - no
problem.

The problem is that these labels are printed one at a time - What this means
is that I need to be able to specify which label to print (Becuase if I
print the first label and use it, then the next time I print I need to be
able to print to the second label, then the third, etc.)

Otherwise I would waste a whole sheet of labels when I want to print just
one.

Is there a way to have access print a label, but print the desired position
(1-9) ont he label sheet?

Thanks

Hi Joe,

Just a quick idea, I assume your labels are generated as a report which is arranged to print to your label paper. If this is the case I suggest you copy the report ten times, allwoing for :

All labels, the large label and then each of the nine smaller labels.

Open the design view of each report and remove the merge field from the other labels areas.

Now when you run the report it will simply populate the label for which ever label you want.

You would most probably be best creating a form to arrange all of this, but its a bit tricky to offer suggestions without knowing more about your database.

Having read my last post,

Please change the numbers of labels to 11, and the spelling of allwoing to allowing.

The late nights must be creeping up on me.
