my question is that I am able to reply to one email, though cannot select 3or
4 or 5 emails to reply too. is this at all possible.
I often get replies for particular roles and sometime would be good if we I
can just highlight a few emails to do the one reply with out it being labour
intensive.

If I understand correctly, you want to be able to select 3 or 4 separate emails and send one reply to all of them. If that is the case, I do not see an option in Outlook to be able to do this as it would need to have the information from each of the original emails in order to do the reply.

However an option may be to select the items then Select Forward Items. That would put all of the original emails as attachments on the new messages.

May also consider creating templates if you find yourself typing the same email content repeatedly.
