Reply With Attachments

In Outlook, "Reply With Attachments" should be an option! At work, I have
accounts payable clerks who e-mail a number of staff (> 200) with attached
copies of invoices asking for approval. When the staff reply, the attachment
is no longer available so the "approval" does not tie to an attachment. And
using Forward is extra work for our staff. I also personally like to reply
with attachments so the attorneys/realtors with whom I am working can connect
my response to the "applicable" attachment. This option needs to be
re-instated (like I believe it use to be in earlier versions of Outlook and
is available in Lotus Notes)!

Though technically correct (the specific phrase did not exist), OL97 did have
the ability to reply with attachments as noted below.

Microsoft Article ID 255868 (OL97: How to Retain an Attached File in a
Reply) states the following:

SUMMARY: This article describes how to automatically retain attachments when
you reply to messages that contain attached files.

MORE INFORMATION: By default, Outlook does not include attachments when you
reply to a message. This keeps the size of replies to a minimum. If you want
to keep the attachment information in your reply, you can set Outlook to
attach the original message. The attached, original message will also include
any original attached files. This results in nested attachments; your reply
contains an attached message which, in turn, contains the attached file.

Therefore, Microsoft has changed these capabilities. I believe it was/is
Lotus Notes that has the options "Reply With Attachments" or "Reply Without
Attachments".

Hopefully, Microsoft will bring this capabiity back, preferably like Lotus
Notes.

Not at all. Outlook can do this. Click Tools>Options>E-mail Options. In the
"When replying to a message" drop-down, choose "Attach original message".
This is exactly what that article is describing.
