The replies I send to new email are sent in plain text with plain text
selected on the format menu and not able to be changed. I can reply to old
emails normally. I have blue-Ariel seletect as my reply font and it is black
when I reply to new emails. Any suggestions?

Interesting. The problem emails are plain text and I didn't think to check
before. Does that mean I can only reply to plain text with plain text and my
colored font won't be used?
Thanks for the insight.

Correct. Outlook replies using the same format as the original. It's only
good manners to respond with Plain Text to a person writing to you in Plain
Text. If they'd wanted all the formatting cruft, they'd have asked for it
with a formatted message.
