I received an e mail message to say that my question on isolating information
had been answered. Clicking on the e mail link loads the page but this is
just a blank page saying "done" on the bottom information bar. I have tried
to go the long way round on this but cannot find my query. Any suggestions?

The Microsoft webpage interface to these newsgroups is (ironically) far from
the best way to search these groups. Try going to http://groups.google.com and
using "Advanced Search"; specify the newsgroup as
microsoft.public.access.gettingstarted or microsoft.public.access.* (to search
all the Access groups) and search for your name, or your subject area, or
keywords in the message.

I've been having the same problem for a long time and accidently just
stumbled upon an answer. Although those links are to the right place, one
needs to be logged on to the site in order for them to work. If you go to the
Communities site first and log on then the link will open properly. I'm
wondering if using the "Save my email and password" option would eliminate
having to do this but I haven't tried that yet.

You might want to consider avoiding the (flaky, slow and unreliable) webpage
altogether; all of the questions and answers in this forum are on Usenet, and
can be accessed using a newsreader such as Outlook Express, Windows Mail, or
(my favorite) Agent (www.forteinc.com). Point your news server to
msnews.microsoft.com.

To search historical posts check out the archive at http://groups.google.com.
Use Advanced Search and search either microsoft.public.access.gettingstarted
or all the Access groups, microsoft.public.access.*.
