Replication problem

C

Chris Coates

I have noticed a replication issue with one of my DCs.
I have a Win 2000 AD environment. There are 3 DCs at my primary site.
I was trying to force replication at that site, I went into AD Sites and
Services, selected my primary site and expanded the list of servers in that
site. I selected a DC named Falcon and clicked on the NTDS settings. In the
right side of the screen I see a list of all DCs that the one I selected
replicates. I can right click on any one on the right side and successfully
tell it to replicate now, with the exception of 1 DC, that DC is named
Eagle.
When I right click on Eagle and tell it to replicate now I get back an error
that says:
"The following error occurred during the attempt to synchronize naming
context <domain name> from the domain controller Eagle to domain controller
Falcon: There are no more endpoints available from the end point mapper.
This operation will not continue"

If I try the replication from the other direction, selecting the NTDS
settings under Eagle and right clicking on one of his replication partners I
get a slightly different error:
"The following error occurred during the attempt to contact domain
controller Eagle: There are no more endpoints available from the end point
mapper"

Can anyone tell me what is wrong and how to fix it?

Thanks for your help

Chris

This shows a problem with RPC communication. Maybe if you run dcdiag and
netdiag on that DC you will get more information.
