Replication between two servers

Can somone please tell me how I would fix or check to see
if my two Win2k servers are replicating properly? From
all accounts they are not.

Server one <GC/DC/AD> is where we have our Exchange
installed on also. (Small office)

Server two is used for two reasons: fax program and
document imaging. I ran dcpromo and all seemed well, but
I'm not sure about the replication. I have tried and it
tells me it has link connection but I'm not sure.

Any advice much appreciated.

DCDiag (on each of them) and send the output to a text file;
search the file for FAIL, WARN, ERROR.

And/or

repadmin /showreps

And/Or

replmon (GUI with help)
Any advice much appreciated.

You can also have a quick look in the event log under directory services...
;-)

If it's not working, you'll have a shed load of errors and warnings in
there. Look those up on eventid.net and then use the tools that Herb
mentioned to troubleshoot further and resolve.

999 times out of 1000 this will be a DNS issue; the other time will be a
firewall ;-)

Terry,

You might want to install the Support Tools on all of your WIN2000 Servers.
The Support Tools are located on the WIN2000 Server CD as well as on the
WIN2000 Service Pack CD in the Support | Tools folder. You can also
download them from the MS web site. I would opt for either the Service Pack
CD or the web site.

Once you do that then you can take a look at dcdiag / repadmin - as Herb
suggested - or you can take a look a the following MSKB Article:

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=249256

This is the basic T/S article for Intra Site replication issues....

HTH,

Cary
