Replica without a Design Master

I have a replica database (Access 2000), based on a Design
Master that, as far as we can tell, no longer exists.

Is there any way to either make this replica the design
master, extract the information *from* the replica, or
otherwise somehow make it editable?

I've never worked with replicas before and the person who
designed this database is (unfortunately) long gone).

If you open the replica, you should find an option under Tools, Replication
that will turn it into a design master.

Further questions regarding replication should be asked in
microsoft.public.access.replication

From what I can understand of that option, I have to have
the original design master in order to set a replica as
the design master. And since I do not have the original
design master I have been unsuccessful in doing this.

As for the other newsgroup, I would gladly have posted
there if it was listed. But I do not see that group listed
under the Access newsgroups option - I see General
Questions, New Users, Database Design, Forms, Forms
Coding, Import/Export Data, INstall and Configure, Macros,
Programming, Queries, Reports, and Security. Nothing
whatsoever to do with replication.
