Replica can't synchronize with Design Master

Hi,

I have a bunch of Replicas that are now longer able to synchronize with
their Design Master. It started after I added an item to the switchboard on
the Design Master. When I synchronize, I get the error message that says
design changes cannot be applied to replicas. Is there a way to correct this
in Access 2003 without have to recreate the replica?

Replication is design to function on the data only.. It sometimes works on
the forms, but since the behavior is not supported, I would avoid it. If you
split you data tables into a separate database and link them back you avoid
this problem entirely.

I have a related question. I'm trying to follow these rules, but when I try
to replicate the BE of the database, I get an error stating that it cannot
open the file exclusively and I do not have rights (something similar). I
fought with this for quite some time and couldn't get around it. I now have
the WHOLE db together and not split. So far it's worked fine (testing stages
still) - except for having to view queries for reports or other.

What causes this error??? Thanks!
