Replacing 4200rpm drive with 7200

I am replacing a 4200 rpm drive in my laptop with a 7200 rpm. Before i
replace the drive i would like to do a baseline to see what a 7200 drive
difference makes. Can anyone walk me through on how to do this with the
performance monitor or any other utility. Also what do i look for and
compare to see the difference.

Dan - this isn't exactly what you asked for, perhaps others here can
give you a lead on a utility or two. BUT there are lots of factors other
than performance that might influence your replacement plan. Some
