Unfortunatley, it's time to do a reinstall, however having moved
house recently I have managed to misplace my XP pro cd. Is there
any way of getting a replacement disc without buying windows
again?
If Windows XP is retail contact Microsoft:

If Windows XP is OEM, contact the seller, Microsoft may not be
able with OEM.
JJ - Thanks for your quick reply.
It is an OEM copy but bought from a shop that has now ceased
trading.
I guess that leaves me up S#@% creek!
Possibly.
However - if you have a friend/family member that has an OEM copy of Windows
XP as well - you could try using their CD/copying their CD. It's the CD Key
that gives you your license.. The CD itself is just the means to the end.
This will not work with ALL OEM copies of the Windows XP CD - as some have
actually been modified by the OEM in question to be "BIOS Locked" or really
customized for the system in question - but if you know anyone who got their
OEM copy after they bought their machine - it may work fine for you.
