So the lack of support boils down to no more helpdesk for users of AVG-FREE.
I know they did sometimes offer support to users of the FREE version, but
this was never actually promised AFAIK.

Since the current free version of AVG is essentially AVG 6, Grisoft
will update the free version only so long as they continue to update AVG 6.
Which they have indicated is going to end RSN.
Of course, Grisoft could introduce a free version based on their current
product, AVG 7, which would be fine. But AFAIK, they haven't done so yet.
