Let's face it you just like to be contrary! You have an obsession with
Linux. Why not discuss this obsession with Linux in a newsgroup
devoted to Linux.
A discussion of problems associated with running Adobe Acrobat Reader
on a Windows XP platform is not off topic for this newsgroup.
My impression was that Eric felt that your interpretation of the word
free was a much narrower one than that commonly adopted. I understand
the point you were trying to make but all most users are usually
interested in is whether or not they have to pay for software. You
were introducing one of the principles on which Linux is founded,
namely open source software, under another guise. This is not relevant
to a decision regarding replacing Adobe Acrobat Reader for 99.99% of
users ( trolls excepted) subscribing to the Microsoft newsgroups.
