replace 2000 Server w 2000 Pro

I'm out of my depth ... but running a startup and have
nobody to turn to ... hoping for help. I'm running 2000
Server SP3 on a laptop (Dell Lat c800, 700MHz, 256MB RAM,
using 70% of 10G hardrive). I have no reason to run a
server OS .. it's just the laptop I inherited
(literally). It's been performing like a hog, has no
antivirus and I've been persuaded it's better to replace
with 2000Pro for better performance and to be able to use
an inexpensive Antivirus program rather than a server
product.

Q: Can I install 2000Pro /uninstall 2000 Server without
uninstalling all my apps (reason: my Dad was not good at
keeping CDs where they can be found and I can only find
some of those for software on the system (eg, can't find
original Office CD though found the Upgrade!))

Thanks

Wouldn't be possible. You'll need to reinstall the operating system, then
the applications.
