Is there a way to apply a slide title to all the slides in a
presentation the same as you would apply a header in a word document to
every page? How would I do this, if so?

Place it on the Slide Master.

How can I apply this retroactively to an existing presentation?

Do you want to change the existing text on the existing slides? Or do you
want to add some new text to every slide?

To do the latter, you can draw a new text box on the slide master, and
put the text you want to appear in every slide.

To do the former, your best bet might be to drag the title placeholder on
the slide master off the viewable portion of the slide. Then draw a text
box.

Excellent! Thanks so much. I deleted the titles from the existing slides
and put the title I wanted in the slide master. It worked perfectly.
