repeating Read receipts from the same email

I keep getting Read Receipts from the same person who I sent an email to a
few days ago. I get about 50 per day. How do I make it stop?
 
You can't really stop them without some administrative control of the
aparently messed up client over there.

Perhaps...
1) Create a rule that sends them to the deleted items folder.
2) send an email to
(e-mail address removed)

How do you fix the messed up client?
I'm working on a laptop that is repeatedly sending out read receipts for 2
different messages. His hard drive was getting full so his older e-mails were
archived into a pst file that was moved to a different drive and a new pst
file was created to receive new messages.
 
Also, there is nothing in any of his outboxes.
