one not read receipt repeatedly being received

Outlook 2003 - A recipient deleted an email without reading a message I sent
and I have been getting a "not read receipt" almost every minute since June
29 from the same sender over and over. I contacted the recipient who told me
he's having no issues with his email. I just deleted over 2600 emails this
afternoon. I temporarily changed my read receipts settings but it didn't
help. How do I stop this 'not read receipt' nightmare cycle?!!! Please
help. Thanks.

the RR setting needs changed before sending the message.

is the recipient on your mail server?

Recipient is not on my mail server. We also do not use an exchange server.
Since the message was sent weeks ago, I can't change the read receipts
settings on that particular email. I contacted my webmail host and they say
they can't do anything about it. The reply seems to be hung in an endless
loop.

I am having the same exact problem. It seems that 2 "not read
receipts" per minute are being sent from the same person that I had
previoulsy requested a read receipt from. The also deleted the
original message without reading it first. I have never came across
this problem before, and quite frankly I am stumped. Any help would
be greatly appreciated.

After speaking to a tech at our godaddy webmail support, they could do
nothing but did confirm for me that this problem is coming from their
exchange server. So my next step is to contact the sender AGAIN and try to
get their network support to clear it from their exchange server or maybe
reboot their exchange server. Maybe that would clear it out!??? If that
doesn't work, I'm afraid the only way to stop it is to delete my email
address and create a new one, which would then begin sending the 'not read'
mail back to their account. Maybe then their exchange server would
implode!!! If this has happened at least two times, then we know there are
others out there who've experienced the same thing. Maybe someone will
stumble upon an answer.
