Repeated Security Update

I recently installed Windows XP professional on my computer over my
existing XP Home version. As a result there were many update files that
automatically appeared and were sucessfully loaded. After a few days, I
noticed that every time I started my computer an update file would appear
ready for loading. After a couple times , I realized that it was always the
same update. Checking, I found it to be identified as an MSXML security
update with the designation KB927978. The repeated installation of this file
is a nuisance. How do I terminate its reocurrence?

This worked a while back----delete the update and then re-install it.

Hide the update or remove the update from the registry and reinstall it.
