Look in the "add/remove" programs area. It shows the
major patches/updates that have been installed.
If the critical/security updates have been downloaded and installed manually
from the Windows Update website or automatically using the Automatic Update
programme, then there should be a list of all the updates that have
undergone these processes correctly. This list is in View Installation
History on the aforementioned website. The list in the Add or Remove
window, however, only includes those installed updates that can be
uninstalled. As you know, some updates once installed cannot be removed,
and these are not listed there. Another way to check what have been
installed is to go to the Registry Editor.
Start > Run > type in regedit > OK
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Software > Microsoft > Updates
Expand (click +) DataAccess Windows Media Player Windows XP
List is not complete, the rest in IE's Menu Bar [Help] > [About IE].
