Repairing Windows XP Pro

I tried to use the WindosXP CD Disc to repair my Windows. After it starts
reinstalling for a while it prompts me to enter the product key. But after
that although the setup message keeps changing, the setup count down stuck at
32 minutes for the rest of the process. Even I restart the repair procedure,
it happens the same way.
Can anybody kindly let me know how can I fix this problem. Thanks in adbvance.

I did a repair install once, and it kept hanging as well, I finally
unplugged all of the peripherals (scanner,printer, ext. drives...ect.) and
it worked fine after that. Try it with just your mouse and keyboard plugged
in.
