Windows XP Repair...

I think that I may have to do a Windows XP repair. I've never had to do one
before. I'm currently running Windows XP Professional SP2. I've made a SP2
slipstream CD; when I insert the disc to boot from it and choose repair,
would that completely wipe out the OS drive and reinstall XP? I would hope
not 'cause its time consuming for me to setup my computer the way I want it
from scratch. Any helpful and knowledgeable replies will be greatly
appreciated. Thanx.
