Repairing IE6 inside XP SP2

hi<
I have Win XP SP2 ith all of the latest updates and am having a problem
where it seems obvious that I need to REPAIR or Re-Install IE6 on my
computer.

I would rather NOT have to go through the entire SP2 installation upgrade
again if it is not needed.

My problem seems to have more to do with not being able to OPEN attachments
inside OE6 than anything else. I have confirmed that all of the SEcURITY tab
entries are UNCHECKED, and my browser Temp fioles & cookies are emptied, but
I still cannot open the files. I get "the command failed to execute" when I
try to open an attachment. I have ocmpacted all of the folders. SO, this is
why I feel that I need to re-install or repair this installation.

Can anyone out there lead me to the solution. ????
