Repair registry in XP Home

I have a PC running XP SP1 and it looks like the registry is screwed (even
proprietary registry fix apps cause crashes). I don't have the original XP
disk or a manufacturer's restore disk, but I do have an OEM of XP Home SP2.
Can I use this to do a repair, without having to do a full re-install, and
without having to cheat on the product keys from the OEM disk?

You can do a repair or clean install with any XP cd that *matches* the
version on the machine. IOW: XP Home OEM on machine, use an XP Home OEM
disk, etc. So if your XP Home SP2 disk is retail and the install on
your machine is OEM, this won't work. If you have an OEM machine that
only had a restore disk, contact the computer mftr. for replacement.
