Repair installation problem

Dian

I tried to do repair installation on Win XP Pro, /the
registry cleaner tool may have deleted some file, and the
system wasn't behaving as usual/. I do all the procdure
as it says, the repair installation starts, but every
time when it reaches in the middle of Installing Devices
process /the screen says 34 min to finish installation/
it stops, restarts the computer and the whole process
starts again. Sometimes also shows Setup Has Been
Restarted. Tried to go to last known good configuration,
but it sends to the installation screen, also it doesn't
start in safe mode, tried to run winnt.exe manualy-it
doesn't work.

Can you help me with this issue?
Have no idea what to do. Don't won't to do clean install-
will lose everythin.

XP has no registry cleaner tool...What you used was a 3rd party tool fro
someone, what steps did you take to repair. For most, you go to run, type:cm
In cmd type:Sfc /Scannow Then insert the xp cd when the graph starts, exi
the info page.If thiers one area microsoft doesnt want users to fool with it
the registry, its the only time they issue a warning to the user if one has to make
adjustment.

Thank you for you answer.
Yes that was third party tool. Now I know that I did a
mistake. What I did was: turned off the computer and then
rebooted it with win xp installation disk, went trough
the initial screens and selected R for repair option of
win xp, the system copied all the necessary files,
restarted the computer and began the installation, when
it was in the middle of: "installing devices" it rebooted
by itself, and now it keeps doing it all the time even if
there is no disk in the CD drive. When I start the whole
process again and choose R for repair it says: setup has
already attempted to upgrade the following Windows
Installation:
C:\WINDOWS "Microsoft Windows XP Professional"
and does the same when I choose: "To retry upgrading
WINDOWS hit ENTER"
Initialy it was a clean instalation not an upgrade.

Searched the WEB to find a solution but there is nothing
appropriate for this problem.
Thank you in advance for your help.
