Repair Install

I recently did a repair install on a friend's computer - XP Home SP2. Mostly
little nagging things like icons won't align to grid, intermittant LAN
connections, etc. After finishing, absolutely nothing had changed. If there
were registry problems, wouldn't they have been corrected? I'd appreciate
opinions.

No, not with a Repair Install.
