Repair install gone bad

I have XP Home Edition. I was doing a repair installation of windows by
setting my computer to boot off the cd. It worked through setup until it had
to restart, but when my computer starts loading windows, an error message
shows saying "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to
prevent damage to your computer." It told me some things to try like
restarting my comp. and to see if a driver was identified in the stop
message, and if so to disable it or check for updates. Also to try changing
video adapters. It also said to try safe mode to remove or disable
components. I'm not the best with this , but I know a little. OK here's the
"technical information: *** STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0x8050D06C,
0xFC903A80, 0xFC903780)" that's it. Does that describe a driver or program?
Is there anything to try at all to fix this? Or if the message already said
all of my choices, can you help me out with them? Please and thank you.

At windows xp startup stop it dead by yanking out the power cord. then
startup and tell it safe mode when it says it didnt start.
