Hello,

Earlier today I had an odd thing happen. My computer,
after booting up took forever to load my settings and
when it finally did, it was just my wallpaper
showing...that's it!? No icons, task bar, nothing. I kept
rebooting and still the same. It would start up in safe
mode but other than that it was doing the same. So I
decided to do a repair. Well the repair goes great until
it hits 34 minutes left with the installing devices at
3/4's done. Then it just hangs there. Eveytime I retry it
or do a repair again it does the same thing. So I decided
to do a windows fresh install in :\Windows1, so I have 2
XP's now, just to see if it was my CD or what. Well it
installed ok and that is how I am online typing this
right now. I have so much important stuff on my original
install that I can't seem to repair. The folder is still
there but I have a password upon boot up and therefore
can't access the folder to get my things out of it. Any
ideas on how to get that first folder going or is it
corrupt? Do I have any options or? Thanks in advance!

I have had similar problems with a hang at 34 minutes
left with me it was wanting VIAAGP1(one). So you might try
to search for VAIAGP1 on your good install and copy to
floppy or cd and when it tries to hang at 34 minutes
insert viaagp1 and see if it will take it it worked for me
a couple of days ago. Good luck hope this helps.

Ya, cause my monitor kept flashing on and off continually
then I could see my refresh rate went all poor after the
cosecutive flashing but remained at 34 minutes. I just
did a search on the file you said "VAIAGP1" and it didn't
find it on my good install. Any clues where I can find
it? And how would I get that file to transfer from a
floppy during the XP install?? It shouldn't search the
floppy during the XP install? Let me know. Thanks again!

To use the VBS Files: Download .vbs file and save it to your hard drive (you
may want to right click and use Save Target As). Double click the vbs
file. You will be prompted when the script is done.

NOTE: If your anti-virus software warns you of a "malicious" script, this
is normal if you have "Script Safe" or similar technology enabled. These
scripts are not malicious, but they do make changes to the System Registry.
