I am using notebook on the move and configure to get the ips from DHCP
server. The computer remembers the previously obtained ips when I move from
one network to another. Can someone tell me how to release and renew the
ips obtained automatically from DHCP.

Thanks,

Ray

START Run IPCONFIG /renew
You can open a CMD window and run the command and see what
it is doing START RUN type CMD, then the ipconfig /renew
To see the help type ipconfig /?

Jim,

I know how to release and renew the ips but I don't think Microsoft software
is so stupid not to do it automatically. Properly, I did not configure
somewhere correctly.

Thanks,

Ray

I am assuming you have set the LAN settings properties to
automatically detect settings?
