You said you may have the answer for the person who had a
problem accessing the Internet after installing SP4 on the
Windows 2000 system. I'm using Virus Scan build 8.0.26.
Can't access the Internet after installing SP4 and can't
read any pdf. files after I uninstall. Any help? Thanks.

My experience with Internet, actually loss of the entire network access, occurred just after installing W2K SP4. My 192.xxx.xxx.xxx IP address suddenly changed to 168.xxx.xxx.xxx and no matter what I did with the network settings, the IP address kept changing back to 168.xxx.xxx.xxx

I finally started disabling programs one at a time and, upon disabling Mcaffe 7.03.6, the problem went away... that is until I re-enabled Mcaffe. I finally ended up uninstalling Mcaffe, reseting my IP address and reinstalling Mcaffe and have had no problems since

You didn't mention if your Internet access problem was IP address related, but I frgured I'd post the scenario and my solution
