Renaming Folder problem

I just downloaded a group of pictures from my digital camera. After editing
each one with my Microsoft Photo editor, I returned to the Group folder I am
storing them in under My Pictures.
When i attempted to rename the folder, it said "cannot rename (folder name);
It is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might
be using the file and try again."
I am an avid photo downloader and have had no prior problems with this
issue. Also, i am the only user on my computer. None of my picture folders
are using that file name.
Could you please advise me on what i can do to rename this folder?
