Rename Start Menu Item?

B

Bob Newman

This question is actually in Win7, it maybe the same in Vista, I'm not sure.
Previous versions of Windows would let you right-click on a Start Menu item
and rename it. I do not see this option in Win7. How can I do it? I use
Live Mail only for newsgroups. I would like the menu item to say Newsgroups
rather than Live Mail.

Thanks in advance... Bob

In vista you *can* right click the start menu items to rename them.

Maybe you need to right click the orb/start button and select "explore",
find the short cut for the item (e.g. Live Mail) and rename it there.

I don't know why MS would have removed such a handy option for renaming the
menu items in Win 7.

Right clicking on the start menu item gives me the option to rename in Win 7
64 bit. I don't know why yours does not???

In Vista you cannot rename the default email entry. Solution is to hide it
and create a pin a normal shortcut.
