Rename mdw file

Is there a way to rename an mdw file that was created with
the security wizard?
I tried to simply rename itby right clicking and typing a
new name, but then my database won't open because it can't
find the mdw file.
Can someone help me?

Hi

How are you opening the database? Do you open Access first? or do you click
on a shortcut?

Opening a secured database can be done in two ways, at least:
1. Join a workgroup (mdw) file, open Access and Open the secured mdb.
2. Open the secured mdb by double-clicking on a shortcut.

So if you change the name of the mdw file, you probably need to:
either:
- join the newly named mdw file
or:
- fix your shortcut since the short cut has a reference to the mdw file.
