I installed xp on one of my home machines, but do to
moving, and being out of town the 30 days passed and I do
not have a second activation code for my second machine.
I would like to go back to the original os, is it
possible to remove xp after the 30 days? When I start up
the machine it will only let me enter an activation code,
and nothing else. Any help or ideas, or am I just stuck
with buying another license?

Yes you are, you need to format the hard drive and install a valid copy of
an OS.

Disk

1. Delete the Windows XP partition.
2. Create a new partition.
3. Format the new partition.
4. Install your desired Operating System.

It sounds like you did an Upgrade over a previous OS. If so then boot into
Safe Mode by pressing F8 while the computer restarts and select Safe Mode
from the Advanced Menu. You can then go into Add and Remove programs and
select the option to Uninstall XP
